Artwork description

Closed-Circuit Yiayia contrasts the tension between surveillance and solidarity. Underpaid Balkan workers in German digital sweatshops train algorithms that monitor us, while they themselves are closely watched. Meanwhile, the Greek Yiayia (grandma), often likened to a CCTV camera in memes, embodies a more communal gaze—perhaps not gossip, but a symbol of community and solidarity.
