A cubic function is a function of the form ƒ(x)=ax³+bx²+cx+d where the coefficients a, b, c and d are complex numbers, and the variable x takes real values, and a≠0. Setting ƒ(x)=0 produces a cubic equation of the form ax³+bx²+cx+d=0.

About the artist

⇢ Igor Štromajer, intima.org & intima.info – "le Pavarotti du HTML" – researches tactical a=tF², intimate guerrilla, and traumatic low-tech communication strategies. He has shown his work at more than two hundred fifty exhibitions in more than sixty countries (transmediale, ISEA, EMAF, SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica Futurelab, V2_, IMPAKT, CYNETART, Manifesta, FILE, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, Hamburg Kunsthalle, ARCO, Microwave, Banff Centre, Les Rencontres Internationales, The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale and in numerous other galleries and museums worldwide) and received a number of awards (in Frankfurt, Moscow, Hamburg, Dresden, Belfort, Madrid, Maribor, Podgorica). His projects form part of the permanent collections of the prestigious art institutions, among them Le Centre national d’art et de Culture Georges Pompidou – Musée national d’art moderne, Paris, France; the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Spain; Computerfinearts – net and media art collection, New York, USA; Maribor Art Gallery, Maribor, Slovenia. As a guest artist he lectures at universities and contemporary art institutes.

⇢ Sakrowski is an art historian, curator, and artist. Since 1986 he works in various constellations in the field of music and new media art. He studied art history at the TU-Berlin. From 1999-2003 he headed the project netart-datenbank.org at TU Berlin and curated several exhibitions in the field of net-based art. From 2003 to 2006 he lead as chairman of the web.museum e.V. In the 2007–2009 period he worked at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Media.Art.Research in Linz at the netpioneers 1.0 research project. Since 2007 he has created various exhibitions dealing with questions circling art and art practices related to the web 2.0; these themes are also the main focus of his project CuratingYouTube.net. In 2014/15 he worked as a curator for the transmediale festival 2015 "capture all". In 2016 he initiated the digital offline art space router.gallery. Since January 2017, he has directed and curated the panke.gallery in Berlin-Wedding. He lives in Berlin.
